Ncube and Mutambara in deep trouble-MDC MP

It never rains but pours for the MDC faction leadership of Welshman Ncube and Arthur Mutambara,and if last night’s revelation by two MDC MPs are anything to go by tough times lie ahead for the duo.

An MDC MP has revealed that the MDC national council meeting held in Harare on last week was chaotic and volatile and MDC MPs were furious when Mutambara and Ncube, allegedly accused the MPs of compromising their negotiating powers by constantly backing Tsvangirai.

Before the ink was dry,MDC Secretary General Welshman Ncube was forced to deny that his faction had signed a power-sharing deal on Tuesday with President Robert Mugabe after seven MPs from the faction threatened to cross parties.

“No deal has been signed by anyone. Dialogue is still continuing.”,said Ncube as the state newspaper The Herald reported Wednesday that indeed a deal was signed.



Mnangagwa:We will sign deal with Mutambara

Emmerson Mnagagwa,the Joint Operations Command Chairman has said they will go ahead and sign a power sharing deal with leader of an MDC faction Arther Mutambara and will be appointed Prime Minister.

“Tsvangirai is not special,we will go ahead and rule with Mutambara”, he was overhead saying as the ZANU PF delegation left Rainbow Towers on Tuesday night.



No deal in sight yet, Disagreements mount

Strong disagreements also emerged on the composition of the security detail for Morgan Tsvangirai, who has been tipped to be Prime Minister and 15 or more senior MDC members who will take up posts in the government, Metro has established.



Deadlock over Cabinet posts,CIO & amnesty delays deal

Failure to agree on how to divvy up cabinet posts delayed the signing of a deal between Robert Mugabe and Morgan Tsvangirai, a person close to the negotiations said Sunday evening.

On Sunday, the two sides continued to bicker over cabinet posts. ZANU-PF is adamant that the MDC should take over the ministries of finance and trade and the opposition is declining the offer. MDC also wants to take local government, foreign affairs but ZANU PF insists on holding on to those.
